John Abdo is an American health and fitness expert, businessman, nutritionist and motivational speaker. He was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame in 2007. He markets his own line of health products, including fitness equipment, Training DVDs, CDs and fitness programs.
His inventions (including a machine for "abdominal aerobics", the AB-DOer) are claimed to have 20 million users. Olympic competitors including speed-skater Bonnie Blair and track star Quincy Watts garnered Gold Medals with him as their trainer. From 1985 to 1997, he had a syndicated television program, Training and Nutrition 2000, which TV Guide said was "the most sophisticated fitness show on television."
Abdo was the National Spokesperson for Fitness Challenge Foundation.
