John Abdo is an American health and fitness expert, businessman, nutritionist and motivational speaker.[1] He was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame in 2007.[2][3] He markets his own line of health products, including fitness equipment, Training DVDs, CDs and fitness programs.[3]

His inventions (including a machine for "abdominal aerobics", the AB-DOer) are claimed to have 20 million users. Olympic competitors including speed-skater Bonnie Blair and track star Quincy Watts garnered Gold Medals with him as their trainer. From 1985 to 1997, he had a syndicated television program, Training and Nutrition 2000, which TV Guide said was "the most sophisticated fitness show on television."[3]

Abdo was the National Spokesperson for Fitness Challenge Foundation.[3]
